GSTN Advisory on GST Registration - 12.02.2025

GSTN has rolled out an advisory on the 12.02.2025 regarding the process of GST registration. The advisory provides guidelines for applicants opting or not opting for Aadhaar authentication and the implications of biometric authentication in the registration process under Rule 8 of the CGST Rules, 2017. Adding a document clarifying it effectively.

With this tax authorities wants to curtail fake #GSTregistrations but at the same time it is going to add or rather already added significant time to obtain the GST registration for everyone in the Country .

This has effectively increased the "Time required to start a business (days) in India". Basis world bank data it was 33 days in 2013, 18 in 2019 & _____ in 2025 - You can guess and add in comments. :(
